Let’s carry on. Undo the tacks, spread the widths:
Having fixated the front width with a paper-clip, we cut off symmetrically the fabric we don’t need any more. Then do the same with the back width:
Tack both widths together along the vertical centers and even the edges:
Now the back pockets. Stick down the tape:
Cut out the pockets so that we could leave some space for turndown only on the top (the rest of the edges will be single-layer and glued down thoroughly):
Unstick tape from the pocket and turn down the top edge:
Glue the pockets down:
Then we make stitching on them:
Tack the parts together, try the skirt on and mark the line for cutting off:
Ready widths:
Stick the tape along the edges:
Sew the widths together with the buttonhole stitch. Then turn down the bottom edge of the skirt and stitch it as well:
Try it on once again. Front view:
Back view:
Now let’s make a belt. Stick the tape along the cross threads of the fabric:
The edges of the belt won’t be turned down. That is why it is extremely important to cut precisely along the thread and process the edge immediately with glue:
Then we try it on:
For the belt to fit tightly, we should make a deeper cut on the front width (It is a good thing that I’ve left am allowance for pockets and zip):
Like this:
Stick the belt along the top edge of the skirt:
Done:
Then we make a stitching like so:
Pull it on our doll and enjoy:
Looks great from the back as well!
